Event / Meeting Planner
Solomon & Associates Event Management (S&A) is an event management firm based in central Connecticut.
S&A provides full-service event management to major corporations, associations, government
entities and not-for-profit organizations.
We are seeking an Event / Meeting Planner to work in our Connecticut office.
In this key position, you will use every facet of your meeting planning
experience in a fast-paced, creative, friendly environment with people who
enjoy working together.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will play a leading role in the planning and execution of domestic and international conferences, events and incentive meetings including:
- Direct interaction/relationship-building with clients
- Site selection
- Budget development
- Venue and supplier negotiation
- Venue rooming lists and meeting room setups management
- Meeting agenda development
- Creative, “outside-the-box” event creations
- Transportation management
- Food & beverage development
- Audio/visual expertise
- Online registration coordination
- Bill reconciliation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be professional and personable
- Three+ years of hands-on meeting planning experience
- CMP designation a plus
- Ability to work with a team of meeting planners in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Absolute attention to detail
- Computer/database skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
- Experience with online registration system(s)
- Enthusiasm and willingness to travel extensively
- Developed list of industry contacts and ability to bring in new accounts.
