Event / Meeting Planner

Solomon & Associates Event Management (S&A) is an event management firm based in central Connecticut. S&A provides full-service event management to major corporations, associations, government entities and not-for-profit organizations.

We are seeking an Event / Meeting Planner to work in our Connecticut office. In this key position, you will use every facet of your meeting planning experience in a fast-paced, creative, friendly environment with people who enjoy working together.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will play a leading role in the planning and execution of domestic and international conferences, events and incentive meetings including:

  • Direct interaction/relationship-building with clients
  • Site selection
  • Budget development
  • Venue and supplier negotiation
  • Venue rooming lists and meeting room setups management
  • Meeting agenda development
  • Creative, “outside-the-box” event creations
  • Transportation management
  • Food & beverage development
  • Audio/visual expertise
  • Online registration coordination
  • Bill reconciliation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be professional and personable
  • Three+ years of hands-on meeting planning experience
  • CMP designation a plus
  • Ability to work with a team of meeting planners in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • Computer/database skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
  • Experience with online registration system(s)
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to travel extensively
  • Developed list of industry contacts and ability to bring in new accounts.

Sales Representative

Solomon & Associates Event Management of Connecticut is currently seeking a Sales Representative to sell our full-range of event management services. Responsibilities include soliciting new business through prospecting and cold calling.

The successful candidate must have the following characteristics:

  1. The ability to be creative with the daily rigors of a sales position.
  2. An enthusiasm for the company.
  3. Strong work ethic and team player.

The candidate should also possess:

  1. Experience in the hospitality/event management industry.
  2. A successful, proven sales track record.
  3. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  4. Positive attitude.
  5. Professional demeanor and polished appearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Sales rep will have flexibility with hours and the ability to work from home. Compensation is commission plus bonuses.
